The Saudi Aramco subsidiary project broke ground

S-OIL recently broke ground on its Shaheen project in South Korea. Shaheen reached a final investment decision in November 2022. S-OIL's new plant uses TC2C technology to process crude oil to produce ethylene, propylene, butadiene and other basic chemicals. Once completed, the new plant will have an annual petrochemical product capacity of 3.2 million tons. This is the first industrial deployment of TC2C technology. tc2c converts crude oil into value-added chemicals through a unique integrated process that combines Loomis's ethylene technology with Saudi Aramco's separation and catalyst technology and CLG's hydrotreating catalyst and reactor technology. TC2C technology maximizes crude oil conversion with lower carbon intensity, higher energy efficiency and lower capital input compared to traditional refinery and chemical integration projects. Unlike any other crude oil to chemicals technology, the TC2C technology can handle low-value refinery logistics, such as slurry and pyrolytic oils, and can be custom-designed to maximize the production of alkenes, aromatics or alkenes and aromatics in combinationGPPS525
